A collective of players in the electricity industry mobilized in the event of a humanitarian crisis

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. Stéphane Romatet, Director of the Crisis and Support Center of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Hervé Gouyet, President of Electriciens sans frontières, renewed the partnership agreement involving many players in the French electricity industry.

A first agreement was signed in 2017. Since then, it has been activated several times to respond to crises in Indonesia, Mozambique, Lebanon and Armenia. Thus, thanks to this strategic renewal, our NGO can continue to call on the 13 foundations and companies associated within the agreement to mobilize material, financial, logistical and human resources in the event of any new humanitarian crisis.

We thank our partners involved in this process for their trust:

Enedis, RTE Réseau de Transport d’Electricité, Legrand France, Schneider Electric fondation, Rexel foundation, Sonepar France, Prysmian Group, ECOSUN Innovations, LAGAZEL, NEXANS Foundation, Novéa Energies, KOHLER-SDMO, EDF Group Foundation.

A strong commitment to optimize our emergency response

"

This partnership agreement is an additional guarantee for our emergency interventions."
Hervé Gouyet

In the event of a disaster linked to climate change, to a conflict or a crisis, the intervention of Electriciens sans frontières may be necessary and indispensable for the impacted populations. Our capacity to intervene depends on several parameters, including

  • The availability of volunteers;
  • The financial resources available;
  • The need for materials;
  • Logistics.

The agreement established with the Crisis and Support Center of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs since 2017 makes it possible to both cover a large part of the needs in case of an emergency and remove many constraints.

The cooperation and responsiveness of the signatories are key in strengthening Electriciens sans frontières’ ability to respond in emergency situations.
