EMERGENCY LEBANON: Make a donation to support our actions

Since 23 September, bombardments in southern Lebanon and Beirut have caused massive destruction, including to civilian infrastructure, leaving 1,600 people dead and 9,000 injured. More than 1 million people have been affected, of whom around 350,000 have been forced to move to 875 emergency shelters, while the fighting is still raging and the bombardments are continuing.

This escalation follows violent clashes between Hezbollah and Israel. Since then, Israeli strikes have spread to regions previously spared by the conflict and are affecting civilian populations.
This crisis comes on top of existing challenges linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, political instability, the economic slowdown and the ongoing conflict with Israel.

Electriciens sans frontières is mobilising urgently to provide assistance to the affected populations.

OUR ACTION

🔺Nearly a tonne of equipment, including 1,056 solar lamps, is ready to be dispatched on aircraft chartered by France and our partners. This 1st response will be carried out in the next few days in cooperation with our logistical and financial partners. The lamps will be distributed by NGOs based in Lebanon and will enable families to have reliable access to light and recharge their mobile phones, vital means of communication in times of conflict.

🔺 Electriciens sans frontières is continuing to actively monitor the situation, working with its local partners to carry out a detailed needs analysis so that it can provide other solutions for access to energy for displaced people.
