Once again this year, regional mobilisation was at the heart of Solidarity Energy Week. Thanks to the many events organised locally with our committed partners and volunteers, we succeeded in raising awareness among hundreds of people about the challenges of access to energy and water around the world.
Two of our volunteer technicians, specialists in photovoltaic installations, travelled to the Chernihiv and Rivne oblasts this summer to inspect the work and take delivery of the first 15 schools.
Since 23 September, bombardments in southern Lebanon and Beirut have caused massive destruction, including to civilian infrastructure, leaving 1,600 people dead and 9,000 injured. More than 1 million people have been affected, of whom around 350,000 have been forced to move to 875 emergency shelters, while the fighting is still raging and the bombardments are continuing.
Depuis le 23 septembre dernier, les bombardements dans le sud du Liban et sur Beyrouth ont provoqué des destructions massives y compris sur les infrastructures civiles, faisant 1600 morts, 9000 blessés. Plus d’1 million de personnes sont affectées, dont environ 350000 ont été contraintes de se déplacer dans 875 abris d’urgence, alors que les combats font toujours rage et que les bombardements se poursuivent.
