Following several missions to Ukraine by each of the two organizations since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, Electriciens sans frontières and Groupe URD have launched a joint learning and capitalization effort on energy and winter preparedness issues to improve the international response in Ukraine.
Invited by the Zayed Prize as the winner of the 2020 Zayed Prize (energy category – for the “Light for the Rohingyas” project), Electriciens sans frontières will take advantage of its presence at COP 28 in Dubai to take the floor to promote and share the inclusive, carbon-free solutions for access to electricity and water that the NGO has been able to implement in various countries.
In four articles for Entreprenante Afrique, we present Electriciens sans frontières’ Cafés Lumière in Madagascar and compare the results of different alternative evaluation methods carried out at affordable cost to test and assess the existence of positive impacts of the project on sustainable development objectives. In this second section, we explore the possibility of testing the presence of impacts using remote sensing data, which is generally inexpensive to mobilise.
