Electriciens sans frontières is an international solidarity NGO founded in 1986. Its 1,200 volunteers work with the poorest populations to improve their living conditions by meeting essential needs such as access to water, education, health and economic development.
To achieve this, reliable, affordable, sustainable energy solutions tailored to local conditions are deployed in some thirty countries, mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Almost all development projects are based on the use of renewable energies (solar photovoltaic or hydraulic). Around half of these projects include water access initiatives (either for drinking water consumption, or for irrigating market garden crops).
