Electriciens sans frontières is an international solidarity NGO of recognised public utility, founded in 1986. Its 1,200 volunteers work with the most disadvantaged populations to improve their living conditions by meeting essential needs such as access to water, education, health and economic development.

To achieve this, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy solutions tailored to local conditions are deployed in around thirty countries, mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Almost all development projects are based on the use of renewable energies (solar photovoltaic or hydraulic). Around half of these projects involve providing access to water (either for drinking or for irrigating market garden crops).
