ELECTRICIENS SANS FRONTIERES IN THE FIELD
At the beginning of the summer, two of our volunteer technicians, specialists in photovoltaic installations, visited the Chernihiv and Rivne oblasts to inspect the work and take delivery of the first 15 schools . The mission also provided an opportunity to meet with the local authorities and to exchange views with the French Embassy in Ukraine on the development of energy needs in these regions.
Two other volunteers visited the Mykolaiv region in July to inspect the work carried out on 14 pumping stations.
They also held discussions with the local authorities responsible for these installations and their maintenance.
These stations play an essential role in Ukraine, ensuring constant access to water for the population and providing heating during the winter, when temperatures drop drastically.
The majority of the stations are located in the Mykolaiv region, close to Kherson, where the bombing of the Kakhovka dam on June 8, 2023 deprived tens of thousands of people of access to drinking water.
Thanks to our local partners, the Fortechnyi Foundation and CAMZ, for their support.
WORK CONTINUES ON NEW STRUCTURES
Further work will take place in August on 11 health centers in the Rivne and Lviv oblasts, in partnership with CAMZ, and on 2 hospitals in the Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, with partner Energy Act For Ukraine.
These installations will all be completed by the end of September, in order to meet the energy needs of these structures on the eve of next winter. The extension of the project until March 2025 will enable more than 30 other hybrid solutions to be installed, providing sustainable power to over 84 establishments before next spring.
Russian strikes against energy infrastructures continue, restricting access to electricity for the entire Ukrainian population, who are dreading the arrival of winter 2024-2025.
