2020 was marked by the health crisis that has affected us all.
Electriciens sans frontières has been able to adapt its way of working in order to continue to operate at a distance. Access to electricity and water are ever-present common challenges at the heart of our development projects or in emergency situations.
Every project that we carry out aims to bring direct benefits to the individuals concerned by improving their living conditions, especially in the field of health.
In 2020 we built an ambitious Covid plan to assist those healthcare facilities with which we have cooperated in the recent past. It was thus possible to diagnose, size and find funding to secure and reinforce the electrical installations of around twenty healthcare facilities in Burkina Faso and Togo. Our programme is continuing in 2021 at sites in Benin, Senegal, Cameroon and Madagascar.
Later in 2020 we carried out two emergency missions in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: one in Lebanon following explosions in the port of Beirut, and the other in Armenia following the conflict in the Haut -Karabakh..
2020, unusual as it was, did not make us lose sight of our goals. Electriciens sans frontières carried out 102 projects in 25 countries and almost all of our development projects used renewable energies.
Maintaining all these activities has been possible thanks not only to the involvement of our volunteers, but also thanks to the contributions from our associative, institutional and economic partners, in France and the countries in which we are involved.
In 2021, as our activities continue at a distance, we are capitalizing on these new ways of operating. Skills transfer thus remains at the heart of our activities and has one objective: to do more and better.
Your support for Electriciens sans frontières has improved lives around the world. We thank you very warmly.
